Purchase a set of waters muffs from your dealer. Connect them to a garden hose and place the "ears" over the water intake grills on the lower unit. Turn on water and run engine checking you have water coming from your discharge line. Do not rev the engine for long periods of time as there will be no back pressure as there would be in the water, it could damage your engine.
