OMC (Johnson/ …
OMC (Johnson/Evinrude) first came out with the Prop-Hub exhaust and the V-4s. V-4s were more reliable and lasted longer because oil could easily circulate to all the cylinders. The older Mercury’s were notorious for blowing out the top cylinder due to lack of oil in the in line 4 and 6 “power of towers.” That’s one of many reasons why you see a whole lot more older OMCs than Mercurys still in use today. Johnson/Evinrude rule!!!!
