Lost my anchor….
I lost my anchor over the weekend. It was real windy on the fourth, and the darn thing set so good, I could not get it pulled up. My buddy did not understand the that I wanted it tied to the boat so I could use the engine to pull it out, instead he tried to hold onto to it while I applied throttle. Needless to say, bye bye anchor and rope. My lake is mainly rock, and mud bottom. Anybody have any good suggestions on what type of anchor to get? I am looking at a digger anchor I also was thinking about a richter anchor. I was using a Navy style anchor, and did not care much for it. It came with the boat. I have used the flute anchors on my powerboats, and they work good, just in the pontoon, it is hard to store a big fluke anchor. Any thoughts?

Retractable Pontoon Boat Covers
Hi everyone I am the inventor of a retractable pontoon boat cover system I call The Boat Guard. I will be featured on the cover of the August issue of Pontoon and Deckboat Magazine. I want to make it perfectly clear I’m not trying to sell anything. I’m just looking for opinions and ideas from real people who love pontoon boating.Someone out there might bring somthing to my attention I haven’t thought of. My product is not even in production and won’t be till next years boating season. I also want to get an idea of the kinds of questions people will have for me before I get put on the spot later and end up looking like a bonehead. I have just completed a fully functional prototype and have a website with a video showing how it all works. The web address is www.theboatguard.com So if you have a minute let me know what you think. I’ll come online in the evening and answer any questions anyone has.

Troubleshooting Stereo
I have about a 5 year old inexpensive Aiwa AM/FM/CD player in my toon. I like it because it has an aux input for the Ipod. In the last three weeks, 3 of the 4 speakers have gone dead. No snap, crackle or pop out of them.
I’ve blown speakers before but they always just sounded terrible. Is it likely the head unit itself has gone bad?
I’ve checked the obvious — no loose wires spotted. I plan to find a known good speaker and plug it in to see if I get any sound out of it.
I know so little about audio electronics. Can I even use a multimeter to check the speaker wiring? If yes, what would I be looking for? Current? Continuity?

Blackjack 26 – Filmed from Pontoon Boat 2
More boating filmed from the pontoon boat 09-21-08. I had a bit of a head wind which was part of the reason it flipped over when I tried to floor it. The pontoon boat was going about 20-22 mph. Blackjact is stock except for 8000mah Lipos and Nomadio React Radio

Talk about DUMB
Took a ride with the wife yesterday. Decided to go threw the canal that connects the Manasquan River and the Barnegat Bay to our favorite resturuant in Point Pleasent Beach. The current running threw the canal during tide changes can be swift. Was fighting the tide going but thought it would be no problem upon returning. About half way threw I decided to turn around as it was getting too late. I negotiated the turn in the canal with no problem. As I was on my merry way back to my dock I did not notice that I had created a wake when I made my manewuver. The wake built up with the force of the tide change and I caught up to it. My bow buried into it and came over and threw the front gate causing the hinges to come loose opening the gate flooding the deck. Was an easy fix for the gate but was a little scary whatching all that water coming threw the gate and onto the deck getting our feet wet up to our ankles. So it wound up that I created my own problem.
Note to self, “Self, don’t do that again.”
Or, If we learn from our mistakes I must be a genius by now.
